IPPC's Technology-Service Solution for Computer and Internet Management, featuring Impulse Control®, is designed specifically for managing offender and defendant computer and Internet use.  Since the inception of IPPC’s solution, the technologies have remained exclusive to probation, parole, pretrial and treatment agencies. IPPC’s solution has successfully been implemented for use by local, state and federal agencies across the county.

All of IPPC's development efforts are thoroughly researched to ensure compliance with existing Federal opinions and to prevent technological vulnerabilities that could be ripe for appellate challenges.  IPPC's solution is investigative in nature and is easily distinguished from off-the-shelf spyware packages. IPPC’s technologies have provided evidence for ordering polygraphs, obtaining search warrants, seizing computers, addressing violations and new charges, and enhancing treatment efforts.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DOING IT AND DOING IT RIGHT

Second Life Demo

When it comes to computer and Internet management, there is a difference between saying that you are doing it and actually doing it right! The wrong approach to computer and Internet management could result in creating precedential court opinions that could impact the entire country.  Because of this issue, IPPC is sensitive to the concerns raised in court challenges (U.S. v. Mark, 2005, 8th Circuit; U.S. v. Johnson, 2006, 2nd Circuit; U.S. v. Lifshitz, 2004, 2nd Circuit; U.S. v. Balon, 2004, 2nd Circuit) without compromising the effectiveness of its solution. Here are just a few examples of how IPPC does it right…

  1. The remote monitoring solution does not give officers physical access to the monitored hard drives.

  2. The offenders’/defendants’ privacies are completely protected and maintained. Additionally, IPPC’s Biometric Integration System (patent pending) can provide privacy protections for the non-supervised computer users and can verify which user, accessing the monitored machine, was responsible for the Internet activity.

  3. IPPC’s solution provides the only monitoring technologies that can be used for evidence-based practices.
